Start with the Exact Listing, Not the Banner
The useful question is not simply “Does it say 1+1?” It is “What does this selected option contain?” Read the title alongside the option name and itemized description. A promotional image can show several variants without establishing which one you selected.
There are official examples of the wording: Olive Young Global has a listing titled AMPLE:N Blemi Shot Ampoule 50ml 1+1 Setand another titled Troubleless Clear Gel Cream 15ml 1+1 Double Pack. These references demonstrate listing terminology, not a verified current Korean-store offer or a statement about availability. Do not transfer a Global listing's configuration to a Korean listing without checking it separately.
Save the exact page you intend to buy from. If its title, selected option, and contents description disagree, record the discrepancy rather than choosing the most generous interpretation. A cropped promotional image is not enough to resolve it.
Separate Four Different Types of Contents
The examples below are hypothetical reading exercises, not current Olive Young offers. Their purpose is to show why counting objects in a photo can give the wrong answer.
Two matching full-size products
A description that explicitly names two complete products of the same size and version supports that interpretation. Check both entries: matching brand names alone do not establish matching formulas, shades, or product types. Do not assume that the second product is selectable unless the option instructions say so.
A main product and a refill
A listing might instead describe a complete product plus a refill. That is not the same configuration as two complete products, even if the stated amounts match. For a cushion, for example, distinguish the case-containing item from the refill component. Do not assume a refill fits a case you already own; use the exact model information supplied by the brand.
A main product and minis
A full-size product accompanied by smaller sizes is another configuration. Record the size and identity of each mini rather than calling the whole group “two full sizes.” Small bottles may be different products, so neither bottle count nor visual similarity establishes equal contents.
Gifts with conditions
Keep a gift offer separate from the base set. Look for conditions such as a qualifying option, purchase requirement, event period, or limited gift supply. Those are checks to make, not a claim that any particular offer uses all those conditions. Unless the listing expressly includes the item in the set, do not describe it as an unconditional component.
Turn the Contents into a Clear Purchase Note
Copy the option text instead of translating it down to “the duo.” Include the product name, size of each component, version or shade, and requested number of sets. If you need matching products, say that explicitly. Also state whether a different configuration is acceptable; silence should not be treated as permission to substitute.
A hypothetical note could read: “One set of the selected option, containing two identical full-size products in the listed size. No refill-only or mini-size substitute. The pictured gift is not part of my required contents.” Use this only when it accurately describes the listing and your preference.
If a gift is essential to your choice, explain that separately rather than assuming it follows from “1+1.” Keep a screenshot of the relevant contents and option text for reference, while recognizing that it does not reserve the offer.
