Cancellation & Refund Policy

Last updated and effective: September 13, 2026 (Korea Standard Time)

Contact support@shipsfromkorea.com or use your account inquiry as soon as you need to cancel or report a problem. Include your order number, affected items and reason. A request is not confirmation that a seller or carrier has stopped processing.

Your legal rights come first. The voluntary cancellation charges below apply only where disclosed and legally permitted. They do not override statutory withdrawal rights, remedies for defective or misdescribed goods, or our responsibility for a service error. If a fee or return restriction conflicts with a mandatory right, that right takes priority.

Where Korean statutory withdrawal rules apply, the ordinary withdrawal period is seven days from the relevant contract notice or supply date, subject to statutory exceptions and any longer applicable right. A charge for exercising that right cannot be imposed where law prohibits it. These rights are assessed for the actual transaction, rather than excluded simply because the order uses a proxy service.

1. Cancellation by order stage

Voluntary cancellation eligibility and existing fees by processing stage
StageWhat happens
Before paymentWithdraw an unpaid request through support. No refund is needed for an amount that was never paid.
Paid, before seller purchaseRequest cancellation before we place the purchase. The existing voluntary cancellation schedule deducts a 5% operating and administrative charge from the cancelled transaction amount, subject to the exceptions below.
Purchased, before seller dispatchSeller acceptance is required for a voluntary cancellation. The existing schedule is a 10% service handling charge, capped at US$50, plus the 5% operating and administrative charge. We will show the calculation and refund amount for your order.
Domestic transit or at our warehouseAn in-transit parcel may need to arrive before a return can be arranged. If the seller accepts a return, the domestic-return terms below apply. Dispatch alone does not remove statutory remedies.
International transit or deliveredOrdinary change-of-mind international returns are not offered. Contact us about an error, defect, loss or damage so we can assess the applicable remedy and carrier or seller claim.

2. Seller returns within Korea

Contact us promptly so we can check the seller's return period and eligibility before it expires. Do not send goods back without return instructions. Preserve tags, accessories, original packaging and the condition required for the return. Secondhand, personalized, opened hygiene-sensitive and clearance goods may have restrictions, subject to applicable law; these labels do not automatically remove rights for defective or misdescribed goods.

For an accepted voluntary domestic return, the existing schedule is a return handling charge of 15% of the returned goods value, capped at US$50, plus the 5% operating and administrative charge and applicable original and return domestic shipping costs. Cancellation and return handling charges are alternatives for the relevant stage, not two handling charges for the same service.

We will explain seller approval, the amount recoverable from the seller, charges and the expected process. Seller recovery can affect a voluntary return, but it does not postpone a refund we are independently required to provide by law.

3. Unavailable items, order changes and service errors

If a seller cannot supply an item, we will explain the unavailable quantity and the amount to be refunded or propose an alternative for your approval. We do not treat failure to supply as a customer change of mind. Your original agreement remains in place until you accept a revised order, and we confirm any additional payment before proceeding.

If we purchase the wrong option, mishandle an item or make another processing error, contact support for correction and any refund or compensation due. Voluntary cancellation penalties do not apply merely because you request a remedy for our error. Where a full refund without deductions is legally required, we will arrange that refund through support.

Statutory refunds and service-error cases are reviewed by an administrator before any refund is initiated. We explain the affected amount, any lawful deduction and the refund method. These cases should not use the standard PayPal refund-choice option or an automatic item refund that deducts 5%. Store credit is available only if you choose it; it does not replace an original-payment refund owed to you.

For claims about seller defects or carrier damage, provide available photos and correspondence. We will help submit the claim, explain the result and distinguish seller or carrier responsibility from our own obligations.

4. Refund amount and method

Your refund statement should identify the affected goods, shipping, service charges, taxes, discounts, credits used, previous refunds and any permitted deduction. We do not refund the same payment twice or turn a coupon into a cash refund.

  • 5% charge: this is Ships From Korea's disclosed operating and administrative deduction. It is not a claim that every payment provider charges a fixed, legally required 5%. The same 5% deduction is not applied twice to the same refunded amount.
  • PayPal: our standard refund-choice flow shows a 5% deduction from the eligible refund balance. If that deduction should not apply, contact support before choosing that option so we can arrange the correct amount.
  • Store credit: where offered, you may choose to receive 100% of the eligible refund balance as store credit without the PayPal deduction. This does not mean 100% of the original purchase price when a lawful return or handling charge has already reduced the eligible balance. Credit is not a mandatory replacement for a cash refund owed to you.
  • Other payment methods: contact support to arrange the appropriate refund to the original payment method. We do not automatically apply PayPal's refund-choice flow to Airwallex or PortOne payments. An alternative method requires your agreement where applicable.

For example, an eligible US$100 refund balance gives US$95 through the standard PayPal option or US$100 in store credit if you choose it. This example does not apply where an undeducted refund is required. Bank conversion and posting may affect the amount displayed in your local currency.

5. Shipping and customs charges

Unused shipping or prepaid tax amounts are assessed separately from goods and completed services. Charges already paid to a carrier or authority may depend on that party's recovery process. We will identify amounts retained and why, subject to any refund we must provide by law.

For a parcel returned because the recipient refused delivery, failed to pay valid import charges or supplied incorrect information, original shipping may be non-refundable and actual return or carrier charges may apply. This does not excuse an error we caused. We will explain available options before authorizing a voluntary return or disposal when practicable.

6. Request, review and timing

  1. Send your order number, affected items, requested outcome and available evidence. Keep the goods and packaging while the request is reviewed.
  2. We confirm the processing stage, seller or carrier requirements, applicable charges and expected refund method. We will explain delays and information still needed.
  3. We initiate an approved refund and record the result. A pending request or a refund choice is not proof that the payment provider has completed a refund; bank posting can take additional time.

Where Korean statutory withdrawal rules apply, the applicable refund deadline takes priority, including the three-business-day period from the legally specified trigger, such as receipt of returned goods or withdrawal from an unfulfilled supply. We will not extend that deadline solely because a seller has not reimbursed us.

You retain the right to raise a good-faith dispute with your payment provider or a competent consumer body. See the Terms of Service for contact and dispute information.
